Alvin Bowman

of Gowanstown, Ontario, entered into the presence of his Lord on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Listowel Memorial Hospital at the age of 76.  Alvin was born in Woolwich Township on January 26, 1945 and was the son of the late Cyrus and Salome Bowman.  Cherished husband of Elmeda (Martin) Bowman whom he married on June 15, 1967.  They shared 54 years together.  Loving father of Brian and Monica Bowman of Gowanstown, Robert and Delphine Bowman of Listowel and Marlene and Carl Bauman of Bancroft.  Fondly remembered by his 17 grandchildren: Rosalie, Sherry, Derek, Xavier, Vincent, Patrick, Colton, Korbyn; Andrea, Renita, Gary, Cheryl, Darcy; Lianna, Micah, Jeriah and Talia. Dear brother of Edwin and Nancy Bowman, Minerva Martin, Elizabeth and Peter Martin and Lucinda Brubacher.  Brother-in-law of Mervin Martin, Elmeda Martin, Verna Martin, David and Verda Martin, Aden and Debbie Martin, Abner and Wanda Martin, Osiah and Marilyn Martin, Eileen and James Horst and Oscar and Shirley Martin. Predeceased by infant daughter Nancy Bowman, daughter-in-law Marilyn Bowman, brother and sister-in-law Ervin and Magdalena Bowman, sister and brother-in-law Esther and Reuben Martin, father-in-law and mother-in-law Osiah and Melinda Martin,  brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Amsey and Fran Martin, Delton Martin, Cleason Martin, Luella and Stuart Martin and Daniel Martin.  He was a faithful member of Brookside Conservative Mennonite Church for many years. He enjoyed driving the back roads of Ontario while employed by the Lenco Dairy and Norwell Dairy Systems, CFR and OK Tire in Elmira.  The friendship formed during these years were a pleasure to him.  His life and sense of humour, blessed and inspired many.  The family would like to thank everyone that has expressed their prayers and tokens of sympathy.

Family and friends are invited for visitation and viewing at Brookside Conservative Mennonite Church, Carthage, 7800 Perth County Road 131, Listowel, N4W 3G9 on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at Woodlawn Mennonite Fellowship, 6449 Wellington County Road 11, Moorefield, Ontario, N0G 2K0 on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Brookside Conservative Mennonite Church officiating, the service will be available to listen to by calling 226-779-5238.
