Douglas Blake Ladd
of Drayton passed away peacefully at the Palmerston and District Hospital on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the Late Marjorie (Miller) Ladd (2001). Dear father of Rick and Sandy Ladd of Goldstone, Debbie and Elo Martin of Brussels, Laura Ladd of Fergus, the late Steven Ladd and Karen Ladd of Listowel and Kevin and Gayle Ladd of R.R. # 2 Moorefield. Loving grandfather of Kristopher and Becky Ladd, Keri and Mike Semenuk, Crystal Ladd and Brian Devlin, Colin and Chelsey Ladd; Tanya and Richard Sherwood, Sonya Acheson, Chrissy Acheson and Paulina and Jim Sauder; Stephanie and David Winkel, Maggie Ladd and Keith Ketchabaw, Katie and Jeremy Sands, Amanda Ladd and Matt Warnick; Andrew Ladd and Matthew Ladd. Fondly remembered by his 27 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by his two sisters Vivian Burrows-Massel and Helen Gibbons, five brothers Elmer, Bill, Norval, Ted and Bob Ladd as well as twin brothers in infancy.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home, Drayton where Rev. Mark Laird will conduct the Funeral Service in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11 a.m.
Private family interment in Southampton Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Palmerston Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
