Our Services

We offer a range of services from traditional funerals, intimate and private memorials, to immediate cremations. Despite each ceremony’s size, family members can customize a funeral to best represent their loved one in a personalized way. Displaying family photos at the visitations, decorating the room with favorite flowers or treasured keepsakes provides a unique way in remembering and saying a final farewell to the deceased.

We strive to offer the best care and service possible, ensuring every detail is looked after for you and your family during this difficult time.

To help you understand Funeral Costs we have prepared an outline of the categories that make up a funeral account.

There are basically four sections that make up the total funeral account: Professional Service Charges, Casket & Merchandise Selections, Cash Disbursements and the government imposed taxes on applicable items.

MONUMENTS AND CEMETERY LETTERING

We are proud to represent Shelburne Memorials, a family owned business since 1888 in Shelburne, Ontario. www.shelburnememorials.com.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CHARGES
These fees are for the professional services of the funeral director and staff. The initial meeting and ongoing consultation with the family to determine all aspects of the service arrangements. Guidance with respect to all service and merchandise selection and the supervision of the provision of these items. Contact with clergy to arrange all service details. Contact with the cemetery/crematorium officials to arrange all details. Supervision of any visitation periods, religious or other ceremonies, burial services or cremation services.
CASKET & MERCHANDISE SELECTIONS
This section is specific to the casket that a family selects. All of our caskets and merchandise are priced separately – meaning the price you see for the casket is for the casket itself with no other items included that can often become confusing to families. Some of the other types of merchandise you might find in these sections of the funeral account are: Burial Vaults, Cremation Urns. Again, each is itemized based on your selection and a total is itemized under the “Casket & Merchandise Selections.”
CASH DISBURSEMENTS
Cash Disbursements are as they imply.

Strict legislation ensures that these items are not marked up and only the exact “cost” is included on the funeral account. Typical cash disbursements might include:

  • Newspaper/Radio Notices
  • Clergy Honorariums
  • Cemetery or Crematorium Charges
  • Coroner’s Cremation Certificates
  • Flowers
  • Funeral lunch
  • Organist
