Leo Anthony Dowdall
formerly Palmerston passed away peacefully at the Saugeen Valley Nursing Home, Mount Forest on Monday, June 13, 2016 in his 71st year. Beloved husband of the late Elaine Dowdall (2009) (nee Patterson) for 43 years. Dear father of Wendy and her husband Ron Feltz of Listowel, Jeffery Dowdall of Kitchener and Jason Dowdall and his wife Sharlene of Listowel. Loving grandfather of Derek Feltz and Tyson Feltz; Christopher Dowdall; Kayley, Nolan and twins Matthew and Joshua Dowdall. Great grandfather of Aleda and Jeremy. Brother of the late Marie and Frank Quinn, John and Joanne Dowdall of Owen Sound, Theresa and Ed Smydo of Fergus, the late Jim and Linda Dowdall, Joan and Larry McDonald of Kitchener, Carol Rogler of Brantford and the late John Rogler, Sharon and Gerald Monahan of South Porcupine, Betty and Don Giles of Fergus, Roger Dowdall and Robert Genier of Ottawa and Shawna and Rick Williams of Kitchener. Brother-in law of the late Howard Patterson, Joe Plester of Holstein and the late Yvonne Plester, Rose Marie and Bill Hunt of Mount Forest, the late Bill Patterson, Marion and John Plume of Mount Forest, Joan Metzger and Jurgen Bischof of Guelph, Wayne Williams of Palmerston and the late Charlene Williams, Don Patterson and his wife Gwen of West Montrose, Robert Patterson and his wife Sheila of Ayton and Judy and Jim Barnard of Alvanley. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
To honour Leo’s wishes cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service of Remembrance in Celebration of Leo’s life at the Palmerston United Church on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Pam Tolmay officiating.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation the Canadian Cancer Society (Breast Cancer) or the Palmerston Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Southgate Township.
