Dear sister of Gladys Aitken and George Mitchell. Predeceased by sister Mary Cavers and brother Elwood Mitchell.

Mom was very community minded. She was a 4-H home making club leader, a very active Women’s Institute member both locally and district level, a councillor and deputy reeve for Wallace Township for several years, and hospital board member. She was a loyal choir member and supply organist for many years at Palmerston United Church and one of the last remaining members of “The Saints” band. She took up golfing in her 60s, curled most of her life and loved Blue Jays baseball.

The Family will receive friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Friday January 12, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The celebration of Fran’s life will be held in the James Street United Church on Saturday January 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.

Spring interment in Derryadd Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to MRI campaign Palmerston District Hospital Foundation or James Street United Church would be appreciated by the family.

Special thanks to the staff of Royal Terrace Residential and Long Term Care Home for their care of Fran over the last year. You are a special group of angels!
