Robert John Finlayson “Bob”

of Palmerston was born in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia and passed away peacefully at the Palmerston and District Hospital on Friday, March 18, 2016 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Marilyn (McCullough) Finlayson for 61 years. Dear father of Lisa and John Levstik of Tiny, John and Doreen Finlayson of Kitchener  the late Isabel Lynn and Sybil Jane both in infancy. Cherished grandfather of Ryan Quilty (Melissa) of Pembroke, Jennifer Quilty (Jeff) of St. Catherines, Liana Quilty (Andrew) of Waterloo, Rob Quilty (Madeleine) of Waterloo, Amanda Finlayson (Steve) of London, Sam Finlayson (Marcie) of Kitchener and Ben Finlayson (Sara) of Kitchener. Loving Poppy of Leah, Madelyn, Amelia and Emerson. Brother of Isabel and Don Dickson of Scarborough. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his sister Lorraine Trainor (Hugh) and brother Ralph Finlayson (Ann). Bob lived in Palmerston for 60 years and taught at Norwell District Secondary School from 1955 till 1986, and was an active member of the Palmerston Lions Club.

The family will receive friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Rev. Pam Tolmay will conduct the  Funeral Service in the Palmerston United Church  on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. followed by cremation.

As expressions of sympathy donations to The Palmerston Lions Heritage Park (cheques payble to the Town of Minto for tax reciept) or the Palmerston United Church would be appreciated by the family.
