
Florence Marian Foster
Passed away peacefully at Derbeckers Heritage House, St. Jacobs on December 16, 2024 in her 94th year. Daughter of the late John Edward and Madge (Baldrey) Foster. Florence was born May 17, 1931 and grew up near Galt, Guelph and finally in Drayton with her loving parents and siblings. She is predeceased by her brothers and sister John (Drika) Foster, William Foster, Helen (Gerard) O’Shea and James (Mary Lou) Foster. Florence gained the nickname “Todie” at a young age, and as an adult became the much loved and adored Aunt Tod to her nephews and nieces John (Susan) Foster of Drayton, Rob (Betty) Foster of Guelph, Stephen (Kie) O’Shea of Tokyo, Japan, Chris (Monika) Foster of Ajax and Jeff Foster of Toronto. Aunt Tod was a loved presence in their lives from their early years to the present time.
Florence was a lifelong employee of CIBC in both Toronto and Vancouver. She was also an avid traveler and an active member of the United Church and the I.O.D.E. Throughout her life Florence maintained many close relationships with friends and family and was a big part of many lives.
She will be missed.
In later years Florence succumbed to the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease and was blessed to receive excellent care at Derbecker’s Heritage House and the family is very thankful for their care.
The family will receive friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Drayton on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 10:00 am until time of Service at 11:00 a.m.
Spring Interment will take place in the family plot at Rockwood Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
