Betty Jean Colton (Markle)
of Arthur passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in her 76th year. Beloved wife of Bill Colton for 35 years. Loving mother of Wade George McHattie (Charlotte) of Stittsville, Kenneth Robert McHattie (Andrea) of Barrie, John Arthur Colton of Barrie, Jennifer Lynne Thompson (Devon) of Arthur and Jeffery William Colton of Winnipeg. Cherished grandmother of Tanner, Nicole, Lauren and Finley; Ben and Hunter; Samantha; Mackenzie and Nolan; Batavia. Great grandmother of Marcus, Evelyn, Lilah, Augustus, Levi and Bryson. Sister of Joan Markle of Mount Forest. Sister-in-law of Betty and Jim Gray and Bruce Colton. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Earl and Dell Markle and brother Eddie Markle.
The family will receive friends at the Crawford Funeral Chapel, 243 George Street Arthur on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. followed by a funeral service of remembrance at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
