Mayne, Elaine Therese; Of Arthur; born November 16, 1927. Died June 9, 2009 at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus . Dear wife of Joe Mayne, married October 1, 1949. Elaine grew up in Toronto, made a happy transition to rural life in Peel Township, worked beside Joe and raised their family on the family farm. She was involved in St. Martin of Tours Church, Drayton and the C.W.L. in that parish. In addition, Elaine spent many wonderful years in Arthur. Mother of Eleanor (John) Morris, Paul deceased in 1984, Vincent (Karen) Mayne, Thomas (Jackie) Mayne, Joan Marie (Peter) Keeling, Marilyn (Wayne) Bridge, Phyllis deceased in 1998, Maureen Mayne (Scott) Campbell and Christopher (Rose) Mayne. Also survived by twenty-one grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation at the Crawford Funeral Home 243 George St., Arthur on Wednesday June 10, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, Arthur on Thursday June 11, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Father Edward Hinsperger celebrant. Interment St. Martin’s R.C. Cemetery, Drayton to follow.
