MORRISON, Arthur (Art); Art lost his courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Sunday January 30, 2011 at Saugeen Valley Nursing Home, Mt. Forest in his 80th year. He leaves to mourn, his devoted wife of 59 years Muriel (Smellie), daughters Betty Anne (Jim) Duguid, Nancy (Ron) Palmateer, Peggy Morrison and Bonnie (Bill) Peate. Missing their Grandpa are Scott, Adam, Jesse (Jenna), Amber (Jay), Stephen, Holly, Jenna (Brian), Lindsay, Jamie and Aaron. Great grandpa to Jesse, Brody, Denver, and Sydney. Art leaves behind his sister Jean (Dudley) Showler, sister-in-law Jean Morrison and brother-in-law Bill (Marjorie) Smellie. Predeceased by his parents Justin and Emmeline Morrison and siblings Earl (Audrey) Morrison, Bob (Mary) Morrison, Margaret (Fred) Bell, Sarah (Bill) Day, Jim Morrison, Russ ( Sandra) Morrison, Rae (Jim) Collins and sister-in-law Helen Smellie. Art spent his life surrounded by the horses he loved in his barn and into his retirement at the Henry stables. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held at the Crawford Funeral Home 243 George St., Arthur on Tuesday February 1, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral will be held from the Arthur United Church 101 Tucker St., Arthur on Wednesday February 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. Spring interment Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur. Remembrances to the Alzheimer’s Society of Guelph and Wellington would be greatly appreciated.
